Spelning på Gustavsberg!

Hej alla!


Nu har det gått ett tag sen någon skrev här och det finns mycket att säga om tiden som gått sen jag gick med i bandet - för det första har det varit fruktansvärt kul att spela med R41 och att till slut känna sig som en del i bandet på riktigt, trots all mobbing jag fått utstå (som yngst, från Malmö och längst i bandet har jag det inte lätt.

Vi har repat på gammalt, gjort om och gjort nytt, några i bandet var och såg Royal Republic och Not Called Jinx på Debaser, en fruktansvärt bra spelning och jag själv fick träffa min gamla gitarrlärare, Hannes. 

    Jakten på gig påbörjades för inte allt för länge sen, men jag måste erkänna att det kom lite oväntat när vi blev erbjudna en spelning nästa torsdag i Gustavsberg. Själv har jag inte stått på scen med ett riktigt band på ganska länge, och det ska bli jättekul att göra en riktig spelning igen. Spellistan är satt, gitarrerna är stämda och vi är alla väldigt taggade. Spelningen börjar klockan 19.00 på "Gurraberg", eventet på facebook kan hittas här: http://tinyurl.com/d6qesfq


Det har märkts i replokalen att vi är redo för den här spelningen, och det kommer defenitivt vara en att komma ihåg länge.

Interview with Fredrik Grotte, the new guitarist of Reaching for One!

After a long wait, lots of auditions and much consideration we can finally have the pleasure of introducing our new guitarist; Fredrik Grotte! To let you all get to know him a bit better we decided to do a short interview with our newest member.

So, how does it feel?
It feels great! It's been a while since I played in a band but I'm really enjoying it - It helps that we're playing kickass music as well.
Since you're not from Stockholm, how did you find out about the band and that we were looking for a guitarist?
When I moved here two months ago I knew I wanted to find a band to play in, so I looked around a little and one day I went to 4sound in Stockholm and saw a handwritten note that said "reaching for one" was looking for a guitarist - I sent an e-mail from my phone right away.
How did you react when you found out you were the new guitarist?
At the time I was at Reading Festival in England, just about to see Hot Water Music so I could barely hear what Danny said - The general message was clear though, it was an awesome feeling!
Why do you think you were picked?
Well, I'm pretty good at playing the guitar, obviously - I've been told my personality had a big part in it as well, but I think it had more to do with the brib-- I mean, yeah.
What kind of guitar do you use?
I have a Gibson Explorer and a Gibson The Paul from '79, the last one was given to me by an author and a close friend - There is no object that has higher personal value to me than that guitar.
Lastly, what do you think you'll bring to the band?
Hopefully I'll add to the great vibe in the band, as well as do some songwriting, something I've been doing a little on my own before. Other than that, a lot of sweat during live shows...

R41 on Soundcloud!

Hi there people! We've just created an account on Soundcloud! If you too have an account, be sure to follow us! As we've uploaded our music on Soundcloud, we've also made som changes on our website reachingforone.tk. From now on, we share our music from Soundcloud instead of uploading it on our own site. That way we save a lot of space! :)

Where is our guitarist?!

We're really struggling to find a guitarist that can replace Francisco. Who would've thought it would be this hard? We haven't even tried out that many, we have contacted a lot of people, but there has only been two guys who has actually come to rehearse with us. It sucks.

But we never give up. We have two guys coming to rehearse with us soon. And we are emailing with a couple of people that are interested to try out as our new guitarist as well. So we keep our fingers crossed and hope it will work out this time. Because seriously, we don't have time for this. We want to take over the world, NAO!

We are planning on recording a couple more of our songs, regardless if we find our guitarist soon or not. Look forward to it!

Midsommar Latino Festival

Hi everyone! We've just played our last gig with Francisco at Midsommar Latino Festival. It went really good, even though the organizers literally treated us like shit. I mean, they didn't even know that we have two guitarists and therefor need two guitar amplifiers... and we emailed them and told them exactly what equipment we need like a week ago. So we were pretty pissed. And it rained like crazy too. But when we got on stage (we managed to solve the situation with the missing amplifier), it finally stopped raining, and we hade some good friends and hardcore fans rocking in front of the stage. That's really all you need. So at least my bad mood disappeared in a flash once we started playing. We gave them a good show!
